Definition of Autism


Autism, the neurological disorder or the so-called mysterious disability, a mental disorder that affects children from an early age (around age 3), causing a lack of properties in the growth and development of various aspects such as linguistic and lack of social interaction with others.

While psychological theories confirmed that there is no cure for such disorder and most patients require lifelong care, only hope remains in early interference and appropriate treatment, some autistic patients are able to learn and act productively.

Autism was first identified by an Austrian psychiatrist and physician named Leo Kanner 1943 and was labeled as early infantile autism.

Autistic child suffering from what metaphorically called " social blindness " and his behavior is characterized by weakness in the use of facial expressions as well as not having the capacity to understand the meaning of feelings of sadness, anger or surprise.

Autism the term given to a developmental disorders which is characterized by failure or impeding the growth of sensory perception, language, and therefore lack of communication, linguistic and became as if the nervous system had just stopped working.
Autistic disorder lasts for lifetime, and leads to abnormal neural growth, which is one of the five components of a group called "the Pervasive Developmental Disorders(PDD)” including the following:-
1. Autism.
2. Asperger's syndrome.
3. Childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD).
4. Rett disorder.
5. Pervasive development disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS).
